President Obama Talks Green Cars in Latest SOTU

Readers, did you watch President Obama's State of the Union address last night?  If you didn't see it live, then we're sure that by now, you've probably heard a bit about the speech.  Between all of the rounds of applause, the President of the United States made some firm statements about the direction of the nation's industries and technology growth, and he made sure to talk about where the automotive world is headed next.

He focused on one big idea: renewable energy.  While we've made great strides over the past few years, bigger, more focused efforts must be made in order to reduce our nation's carbon pollution.

A key part of this mission is to alleviate Americans' dependence on natural gas, and to do this, Obama called for more fueling stations to be built so that it's easier for interested drivers to shift from foreign oil to natural gas.  This lack of infrastructure is a major hurdle for this developing technology at the moment.

The President also called for new fuel economy standards for trucks.

What does this mean for our Burlington area customers?  We can't say for sure, but while we have plenty of green, eco-friendly vehicles for sale here at Earthycars right now, the future is looking pretty bright and the models that will arrive here in the next few years will be cleaner and more efficient than ever before.
