While you're driving around Williston, make sure that you have the tools you need to recharge a car's dead battery by keeping jumper cables in the trunk. You'll have to know how to use these cables safely, however, so we've compiled a few tips for keeping you safe while you jump start another vehicle.
Start by placing the first red clamp onto the positive terminal of the working car's battery; this will be larger than its counterpart or display POS or a + symbol for identification. Clip the second red clamp onto the positive terminal on the non-working battery, and place the first of the black clips on the negative terminal beside it.
Now, place the final black clip on a bare metal spot on under the working car's hood and start the ignition to charge the opposite battery. After a few minutes, crank up the ignition and see if it starts up. If the car starts, drive it around for about 15 minutes to ensure the battery is fully charged.
