Tire maintenance is one of the keys to preventing a blowout. Proper maintenance means keeping your vehicle at the appropriate pressure. Find out the pounds per square inch, or PSI, that is appropriate for your vehicle. This is typically in the owner's manual. It may also be found inside of the driver's door. Check the tire pressure weekly. Keep in mind that your tires are more likely to blow out in the summer. That is why you may have to check the tire pressure more often during this time of the year.

Tire rotation is another important thing that has to be done to prevent the tires from blowing out. The purpose of rotating your tires is to make sure that the tires wear out at a similar rate. Additionally, you should inspect the tread that you have on your tires.
