A dead or dying car battery can be incredibly frustrating, but the process of charging it back up can be surprisingly straightforward.
To get started, you'll need the correct charging equipment—typically a charger and jumper cables. Once you've obtained the necessary materials, connect one end of the charger to your car battery and plug in the other end to an appropriate power source.
If your car battery is completely dead, you may also need jumper cables. To use them properly, attach one end of the cable to your car's positive (+) terminal and the other end to a working battery’s positive terminal. Then, connect the negative (-) terminals on each battery in the same manner.
Once everything is connected, switch the charger to its highest setting and leave it running for at least 12 hours. During this time, keep an eye on the battery’s voltage readings and make sure they remain stable. After 12 hours have passed, turn off the charger and disconnect it from your car’s battery before testing the car to ensure it has been fully charged.
